New Research Initiative Focuses on Health Policy and Systems Development

A comprehensive research initiative has been launched to address critical challenges in healthcare delivery and health system strengthening across Uganda and East Africa.

A major new research initiative focusing on health policy and systems development has been launched to address critical challenges in healthcare delivery, health system strengthening, and policy development across Uganda and the broader East African region.

The initiative brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to conduct collaborative research on key health system challenges including governance and financing, universal health coverage implementation, community health worker programs, and health technology assessment.

Key focus areas of the research initiative include health system governance and financing, universal health coverage implementation, community health worker programs, health technology assessment, and maternal and child health policies. The initiative aims to generate evidence that can inform policy decisions and improve health outcomes.

The research program will support multiple projects and provide opportunities for capacity building, knowledge sharing, and policy engagement. Researchers from various institutions across the region are expected to participate in this collaborative effort.
