Professor James Mugisha, a leading education policy researcher and former Dean of the Faculty of Education at Kyambogo University, has been awarded the Education Policy Innovation Grant in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education policy research and teacher professional development.
With over 20 years in academia, Professor Mugisha has been instrumental in shaping education policy reforms in Uganda. His work focuses on teacher professional development, curriculum innovation, and the integration of technology in education. He has served as a consultant to the Ministry of Education and various international development organizations.
"This recognition is not just for me, but for all the educators and researchers who are working tirelessly to improve education in Uganda," said Professor Mugisha. "Education is the foundation of development, and we must continue to innovate and adapt to meet the changing needs of our students and society."
The grant will support Professor Mugisha's continued research on digital learning integration and teacher professional development, with a focus on developing scalable models for education improvement across Uganda.
