New Health Systems Strengthening Grant Awarded to Support Rural Healthcare

The World Health Organization has awarded a major grant to strengthen primary healthcare systems in rural Uganda, focusing on community health worker programs and digital health interventions.

The World Health Organization has announced the award of a significant grant worth UGX 75 million to support health systems strengthening initiatives in rural Uganda. This funding will support innovative approaches to improving healthcare delivery in underserved communities.

The grant will focus on several key areas including the expansion of community health worker programs, implementation of digital health technologies, and strengthening of health facility management systems. The initiative aims to improve healthcare access and quality for over 100,000 people in rural communities.

"This grant represents a major opportunity to transform healthcare delivery in rural areas," said Dr. Sarah Nakamya, the project lead. "We will work closely with communities to ensure sustainable improvements in health outcomes."

The project will be implemented over 24 months and includes comprehensive monitoring and evaluation components to measure impact and inform future scaling efforts.
