Climate Adaptation Fellowship Program Opens Applications for Early-Career Researchers

The Climate Change Adaptation Research Fellowship is now accepting applications from early-career researchers interested in studying climate adaptation and environmental policy.

The Climate Change Adaptation Research Fellowship program has opened applications for its 2024 cohort, offering opportunities for early-career researchers to conduct policy-relevant research on climate adaptation and environmental governance.

The fellowship, funded by USAID Climate Change Program, provides 12 months of research support including mentorship from senior researchers, policy engagement training, and opportunities for conference presentations. Fellows will receive funding of up to UGX 30 million to support their research activities.

Dr. Grace Tumusiime, a previous fellowship recipient, shared her experience: "The fellowship provided invaluable support for my research on community-based climate adaptation. The mentorship and policy engagement opportunities were particularly beneficial for my career development."

Applications are open to PhD graduates within five years of completion who have research interests in climate adaptation, environmental governance, or related fields. The application deadline is set for three months from now, with the fellowship program beginning six months later.
