Healthcare Project Reaches Major Milestone in Rural Communities

The rural healthcare strengthening project has successfully trained over 150 community health workers and established digital health systems in 10 communities.

The Strengthening Primary Healthcare Systems project has reached a significant milestone, successfully training over 150 community health workers and establishing digital health management systems in 10 rural communities across three districts.

The project, which began 18 months ago, has made substantial progress in improving healthcare access and quality in underserved areas. Key achievements include the deployment of digital health tools for patient management, establishment of referral systems, and strengthening of health facility management.

Community health workers trained through the project have reported improved confidence and skills in providing basic healthcare services and health education. The digital health systems have streamlined patient record management and improved coordination between health facilities.

"We are seeing real improvements in health outcomes," reported project lead Dr. Sarah Nakamya. "Community members now have better access to healthcare services, and the quality of care has improved significantly. The digital tools have been particularly effective in improving efficiency and coordination."

The project will continue for another six months, with plans to evaluate impact and develop recommendations for scaling up successful interventions to other regions.
