Dr. Sarah Nakamya Wins Prestigious Health Systems Research Award

Dr. Sarah Nakamya from Makerere University has been awarded the Health Systems Strengthening Research Grant for her innovative work on community health worker programs.

Dr. Sarah Nakamya, Associate Professor at Makerere University's School of Public Health, has been awarded the prestigious Health Systems Strengthening Research Grant in recognition of her outstanding contributions to health policy research and community health worker programs.

Dr. Nakamya's research focuses on innovative approaches to improving healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings, with particular emphasis on strengthening primary healthcare systems and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Her work has been instrumental in shaping health policy in Uganda and the broader East African region.

"I am honored to receive this recognition," said Dr. Nakamya. "This award will enable us to expand our research on community health worker programs and their impact on health system strengthening. Our goal is to generate evidence that can inform policy and improve health outcomes for communities across Uganda."
